ALL VISITORS MUST: 1) Check in at front desk 2) Have their picture made for visitor’s pass 3) Specify what area of hospital they need to visit
Visitation hours for the non-COVID medical/surgical floors will be from 8 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. If you are in by 7:30 p.m. you may stay overnight but if you leave, you may not come back until 8 a.m.
All visitors must abide by the visitation guidelines and be screened daily.
Patients will be allowed 1 visitor per day. Visitors cannot switch in and out on the same day.
Visitation on 2CE will be allowed if the patient does not have COVID.
ICU patients who are COVID negative may have 1 visitor from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Visitation on the Rehab unit will be Monday – Friday 3:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and on weekends 12 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Surgery waiting room and Cath Lab waiting rooms are open for 1 visitor accompanying each patient.
No visitors allowed in Radiology and Lab waiting areas. Exceptions may apply for cognitive and physical impairments.
Patients under 18 are allowed 2 visitors daily.
Labor & Delivery patients in active labor are allowed 2 visitors.
All visitors must enter through the 40th Avenue entrance only.
No visitors under 18 years of age.
All visitors will be screened for COVID-19. People with fever, cough, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or other flu like symptoms are not permitted to visit any area of the hospital. Any person who has recently had a COVID-19 test will not be permitted to visit any area of the hospital.
Please bring a mask with you. You must wear a mask at all times. If you are found not wearing your mast, you will be asked to leave.

Patients in other areas will be allowed one visitor per day. Visitors cannot switch in and out on the same day.

Rehab patients may have one visitor from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and Sundays 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

COVID-19 FAQs

If you are experiencing a new onset of any of the following symptoms, please call 870-541-4911 to be screened for COVID-19.
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
If you have known direct contact with a COVID+ person and were wearing a mask, you are at lower risk for contracting COVID-19. Monitor yourself for symptoms and call 870-541-4911 if you develop symptoms.
If you have known direct contact with a COVID+ person and were NOT wearing a mask, limit where you go and who you are around. If you must go out or be around others, wear your mask. If you develop symptoms, please call 870-541-4911 to be screened.
If someone in your office tests positive for COVID-19 and you are not experiencing any symptoms, continue to wear your mask if you cannot be at least 6 feet apart from other co-workers and monitor yourself for symptoms. If you develop symptoms, please call 870-541-4911 to be screened.
Someone tested positive at my spouse’s workplace. Does my spouse need to get tested? They only need to be tested if they develop symptoms. Do I need to get tested? You do not need to be tested unless your spouse develops symptoms and then you develop symptoms.
We had someone test positive in our department at work. Should we all get tested? Only if you develop symptoms.
A child at my son’s daycare has tested positive for COVID-19. Should my entire family be tested? If anyone in your family develops symptoms, then please call 870-541-4911 and be screened.
I don’t have any symptoms, but I want to get tested. What do I do? Right now Jefferson Regional is only testing symptomatic patients. If you are not experiencing any symptoms and wish to be tested then you can call the Jefferson County Health Department (870-535-2142) or you can call the resource line (870-541-4911) and choose option “2” to be connected.

A negative test only means that you are not positive at that moment. You may have COVID but you may not have enough of the virus in your system yet to test positive. You could be positive tomorrow. This is why we only recommend testing when you have symptoms.

July 15, 2020

Effective July 16, the following visitor policy will be in effect.

No visitors are allowed in patient rooms at this time.
Surgery Waiting and Cath Lab waiting areas are open for one visitor accompanying each patient.
No visitors allowed in Jefferson Regional Outpatient Clinics, Radiology or Lab waiting areas. (Exceptions may apply for cognitive or physical impairments.)
Labor & Delivery patients may have one visitor.
Patients under the age of 18 may have one visitor.
Visitors for end of life patients are on a case-by-case basis and must have prior approval.

April 24, 2020 (9 a.m.)

Following the direction of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, Jefferson Regional will resume outpatient surgical procedures at the main hospital on Monday, April 27.

Jefferson Regional will continue following the COVID-19 safety precautions implemented at the beginning of the pandemic, including the limitation on visitors. One person will be allowed to accompany each patient undergoing an outpatient procedure, but will be required to remain in the outpatient surgery waiting area or in the front lobby. If the patient should be admitted to the hospital, no guests will be allowed in the patient’s room. The only other visitors allowed in the hospital are one person for each labor and delivery patient, and one person for each end-of-life patient.

Also on April 27, Jefferson Regional clinics will begin allowing one guest with each patient.

The safety of our patients, staff and the community always comes first. As social distancing restrictions begin to ease statewide, Jefferson Regional will continue to monitor the situation and make changes when appropriate.

Jefferson Regional continues to be closed to all visitors (with the same exceptions listed below) but the hospital is open and ready to serve your needs. Jefferson Regional allows a patient:

ONE (1) VISITOR per day, non-transferable
NO VISITORS when on special isolation precautions or in the areas of ICU, CCU, 2CE, 3CE.
TWO (2) VISITORS per day, non-transferable, in Labor and Delivery and 2NW.

A visitor must:

enter through the Main Entrance on 40th Avenue
remain in the patient room throughout the day. If leaving the building, the visitor will not be allowed to re-enter until the next day.
be 15 years or older.
adhere to the visiting hours of 7am – 7pm. Overnight guests are required to stay in the patient’s room.
Hospice and end of life circumstances will be handled on a case-by-case basis by Administration and hospital security.

Screening:

Those seeking entry into Jefferson Regional are asked to sign in, designate who they are visiting and answer the following health screening questions:
Do you have a fever?
Have you traveled outside the country or state within the last 14 days?
Have you had a cough, shortness of breath, body aches or any nausea/vomiting/diarrhea?
Have you had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19?

While we continue to work around the clock to address the changing concerns surrounding COVID-19, Governor Asa Hutchinson praised our response at a recent press conference.

In reference to Jefferson Regional he said, “They have been extraordinary partners in this, under very difficult circumstances and it really illustrates how our healthcare workers are impacted. I believe it was one patient that was there but we’ve had six healthcare workers that are now positive. They are on the front line and it also emphasizes that we need to be concerned about a shortage of healthcare workers. I appreciate them, they are doing an extraordinary job.”

Effective at 7 a.m. on March 18 there will be no visitors allowed in Jefferson Regional Medical Center except for:

Labor and Delivery patients – 1 visitor per patient

Surgery patients – 1 visitor per patient

Hospice patients – 1 visitor per patient

New guidelines are released by the Centers for Disease Control every day and we use these to ensure the safety of our patients. Not allowing visitors is to protect our patients.

Director and State Health Officer for the Arkansas Department of Health Nathaniel Smith, MD, spoke today, during the governor’s press conference, about Jefferson Regional’s response to COVID-19.“The good news is that Jefferson Regional Medical Center has done an incredible job of segregating patients.” Dr. Smith said. “My team, my healthcare associated infections team, was there yesterday and was very, very impressed. I give them my highest commendation for the work they have done and they are really a model for other hospitals. I have high confidence in their ability to care for patients with COVID-19 as well as all other medical conditions.”Our employees continue to shine as we monitor and address the issues surrounding COVID-19.

To provide a safe, protective and healing environment for our patients, visitors, physicians and staff, Jefferson Regional requests the following.

No visitation for patients in the following areas: 2CE, 3CE and ICU
One visitor per patient for all other areas of the hospital and physician offices.
Visitors must enter at the Main Entrance on 40th Avenue and check in at the main desk. At that time, each visitor will receive an “approved visitor” card, which must be returned to the desk when departing. A maximum of three different visitors per patient are allowed in one day.
The 40th Avenue entrance will be open from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Effective immediately, in all areas allowing visitors, patients are limited to one visitor/guest at a time. We ask that all visitors enter through our main (40th Avenue) entrance. Regular visiting hours will be observed.

Jefferson Regional continues to care for our community by offering resources to assist with COVID-19. This afternoon, Governor Asa Hutchinson announced that there were 16 positive COVID-19 cases in the state of Arkansas. The good news is that the positive cases attributed to our area are all linked to the primary patient at Jefferson Regional with no additional spread.

Our hospital staff has been working diligently throughout the weekend to ensure the safety of our patients and community. We are not experiencing any staffing challenges as our employees are dedicated and committed to serving our community in these tough times. To ensure the safety of our patients, staff and physicians, we will continue to have the limited entry points in order to screen for potential COVID-19 symptoms or exposure.

Jefferson Regional’s COVID-19 Information/Resource line (870-541-4911) will continue to be operational to answer questions from the public. If you have concerns, please call this number and a healthcare professional will assist in navigating you to the appropriate treatment, including drive-thru screenings if needed.

Once again, we remind the public to continue to take the recommended measures to protect from COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses, which include staying at home when sick, covering your mouth and nose with a tissue when sneezing, coughing into your elbow, washing hands frequently, disinfecting frequently touched surfaces and avoiding being within six feet (close contact) of a person who is sick.

The health and safety of our patients, the public and our employees are of utmost importance at Jefferson Regional.

As we continuously work to minimize the spread of COVID-19, Jefferson Regional is providing safe care for all patients. Most recently, a COVID-19 information/resource line has been launched and all employees and visitors are being screened prior to entry at the main (4oth Avenue) and Emergency Room entrances. The check-in areas have been established to ensure proactive monitoring and protection efforts for all employees, patients and guests. Both Jefferson Regional Wellness Centers will close at the end of business Friday, March 13 and remain closed through Sunday, March 29. “We are faced with tough decisions that will affect our members and our community. With the health and safety of our membership in mind, we are closing our facility temporarily,” Wellness Center Manager Jason Rogers explained. “It is our sincere hope that these steps, along with others taken in our community, can ultimately help keep our members safe.” We apologize for any inconvenience.

March 12, 2020 (8 a.m.)

Our hospital continues to be open today. Access into the building remains only through the 40th Avenue main entrance and the Emergency Department. All visitors will be screened before being allowed to enter the facility. Employees reporting for work should enter through the rear 42nd Avenue entrance and will be screened.

March 11, 2020 (12:03 p.m.)

It has been determined that we have one patient in our main facility with a “presumptive positive” case of COVID-19. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is currently working to confirm this case. The patient is receiving excellent care, and we are following all CDC and other prevention guidelines to protect patients, visitors and employees. The risk is low for those who have not had direct contact with this patient. Out of an abundance of caution, we are limiting access to our facility. We ask that all visitors enter through our main 40th Avenue entrance or through our Emergency Department. All other entrances will be closed. You will be screened upon entering for fever and will be required to have the name of the patient you are visiting. We are committed to providing our community with current and accurate information as it becomes available.

COVID-19 booster vaccines are available

Booster shot should be six months after the second Pfizer or Moderna shot or two months after a first Johnson & Johnson shot.

Booster shots are available to any person over age 18 and meeting the above criteria.
